Welcome Message from MWIA President
Dear Distinguished Delegates, Colleagues and Friends,
As President of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA), it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the 32nd International Congress of MWIA. We are excited at the prospect of hosting over 1000 doctors, researchers, residents, students and guests from different corners of the globe, from June 24-26, 2022, in Taipei, Taiwan.
Founded in 1919, the Medical Women’s International Association has, for over a hundred years, directed its efforts and resources to proactively empower women in medicine and to continuously strive to improve the health and wellbeing of women and girls and their communities around the world. The Congress will bring together the voices of diverse practitioners.
It has been over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic was first reported, and despite precautionary measures and vaccines there are still new waves occurring. COVID-19 has alerted the world to the fact that health and wellbeing is a priority and has also heightened the respect and recognition of the heroic work of healthcare personnel. Through our convening, we hope to share lessons and effective strategies for containing the pandemic.
In conjunction with MWIA, the Taiwan Medical Women's Association (TMWA) has planned a Congress program that promises to be rich and rewarding for all participants.
I wish to extend my profound thanks to our colleagues of The TMWA for working tirelessly to ensure that we have a superb outing at the 32nd International Congress of MWIA.
We look forward to seeing you all at MWIA 2022!

Welcome Message from the Local Organizing Committee
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee of MWIA, we are honored to invite you to the 32nd International Congress of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA 2022).
In 1954, Taiwan Medical Women's Association joined MWIA, and it is a great honor and privilege for us to be awarded the opportunity to host the 32nd International Congress of MWIA in 2022 in Taipei. Themed “Young Women Young Doctors: Our Inspiration Our Future”, the Congress Scientific Subcommittee has worked diligently to design a rich and comprehensive Program, ranging from advanced research and in-depth studies in a variety of issues relating to women's health and wellness, to facilitating career progression and leadership for medical women. For the past year or so, the world has been fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic, it is our sincere hope that by joining forces and working together, we will emerge from this pandemic stronger and in better shape to combat unforeseen future events such as this. Whilst MWIA 2022 is aimed at bringing medical women together, however, in view of the constraints posed the pandemic, the 32nd International Congress of MWIA has been planned to run as a hybrid event.
Established in 1995, the Taiwan's national health insurance scheme provides healthcare for all citizens with an emphasis on accessibility, affordability, and quality. The growing proportion of female doctors is also a strong proof of our long-term commitment to improving gender equity and women’s rights, as well as a well-rounded and holistic health system. We are indeed very excited at the prospect of closer collaboration with and contribution to the international community.
We hope that you will enjoy the Congress, get to connect with outstanding women doctors from different countries and through a creative exchange of ideas, you will find the Congress rewarding both professionally and personally. We look forward to welcoming you to the charming and vibrant city of Taipei, in June 2022.
